- Note: The weather in Denver is unpredictable, bring layers and look at the weather before you travel for expected temperatures.
There are many great ways to get around Denver! The city is drivable, walkable, bike-able, über/lyftable, and there is public transportation (although somewhat limited).
If you are coming from somewhere with much lower altitude, you may experience symptoms of altitude sickness (though not everyone does) including nausea, dizziness, headaches, and exhaustion.
You can take steps to prevent altitude sickness by:
- Avoiding strenuous exercise on your first day here!
- Drink plenty of water (especially if you are coming from somewhere humid). Colorado is quite dry and it’s easy to get dehydrated!
- Eat enough! Your body will be burning more calories at a higher altitude, so make sure to eat!
- Wear sun protection (we are closer to the sun!).
