Contact UsSummer Learning Series is an upcoming public-facing enrichment program that will be held June 7–10 and June 14–17, 2027, on the Auraria Campus. The program is seeking faculty proposals for public-facing lectures and experiential workshops. Proposals should highlight engaging educational topics that appeal to a broad audience. This is a great opportunity for Roadrunner faculty to connect with a wider audience, create new experiences for learners, and share about topics that inspire them.

Yes, faculty will be paid for both preparation and instruction for their courses. For lectures, faculty will receive a preparation fee of $100, as well as a $100 honorarium per instructional hour. For experiential workshops, faculty will receive $200 preparation fee and a $100 honorarium per instructional hour. Faculty will only be paid honoraria for courses that run. If a course is cancelled within 2 weeks of the start date, instructors will still receive 100% of the preparation fee.
Lectures will be 60-90 minutes long and be held in classrooms at °®ÒºAƬ. They will reflect a more traditional class experience for participants. Experiential workshops are intended to be interactive, hands-on demonstrations or field-based experiences. They are expected to take approximately 3 hours.
The selection committee is interested in proposals that both highlight the diversity of °®ÒºAƬ’s faculty interests and will be accessible to a wide segment of our community, from retirees to high school students. We are also seeking engaging faculty who can translate their interests and expertise into a memorable experience for participants.
We are seeking a 5-10 minute recording. This should be shared as a link that will be accessible to members of the committee. We therefore recommend that you use either YouTube or OneDrive to upload your video and then share the link. Submissions are not being evaluated for production quality. A Zoom/Teams recording or a phone camera in the back of the classroom would be perfectly acceptable
Your proposal does not need to focus on a topic or subject you normally teach. We encourage you to propose topics that interest you and that you have sufficient knowledge or expertise to lead. Consider topics that may be especially engaging, accessible, and relevant to a broad audience.
Lectures will have a class size of 20-30 people, while experiential workshops will be limited to 16-24 participants.
The selection committee will notify all applicants of the status of their proposal by January 29. Planning staff will work with selected presenters to set up the course space and coordinate any necessary materials or resources.
Faculty can submit up to two proposals and may use the same sample recording for both. However, only one proposal per faculty member will be accepted.
If you have a question that is not addressed in this call for proposals, please contact Oliver Keels at [email protected].
