From Homework To Practice Assignments – GenAI in PHY 1000

In this month’s Executive Director’s Corner, Jeff shares how he rebuilt homework in his Physics of Nature course as three-step Practice Assignments. Students make an honest first attempt, then get help (which can come from GenAI with Learning Prompts), and finish by revising and explaining what changed in their thinking. He also lays out the course’s AI policy, component by component.
